Newsletters

Purpose
The purpose of a newsletter is to bring a smaller, less time consuming version of the current issue to our subscriber’s email inbox. We have found that most people don’t have a lot of time to read the whole issue from start to finish. So, we bring it to them in bite-size pieces. It also promotes a sense of community and connectivity.

Audience
Most people who receive the newsletter are professionals who receive their emails to their work email. Hence, the need for the newsletter to be easy to read and less time consuming.

Scheduling
The newsletter should go out every second Tuesday if you are going on a bi-weekly schedule. If you are sending it out once a month, then it should go out on the first Tuesday of every month. Statistically, we have found that people read their email more on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Content and Planning
Choose 5 articles from current issue. You must have included:

* 1 article with a gospel close in it. Usually a lifestory. This will be written out in full below Ex.http://www.womentodaymagazine.com/lifestories/kschenk.html. **Please note that their must be a prayer to receive Christ and opportunity for them to reply back to you.**
* Main feature of current issue.
* An advice article
* A general interest article- family, fitness, beauty
* A money or career article
* A recipe

As well, in the side bar list current chats for the time period. It is crusade policy that every newsletter that goes out must have an html version and a plain text version.

Form Letters

What Is a Form Letter?
A form letter is a standardized letter that is used to deal with specific requests, and responses.

Purpose

Link Exchanges

Purpose
To create more traffic to our site through partnerships with other sites.

What is a Link Exchange?
A link exchange is a partnership with another site. We put their link on our site and in return they put our url on their site.

Procedure
They will come to you. Women Today Magazine does not purposely seek out link exchanges, but as a beginning website you might find it beneficial to seek out partnerships.

All link exchanges must be reviewed for content before accepting the exchange. Reasons to decline exchange:

* Selling weight loss programs, pills, fitness plans, herbal supplements
* Sexually explicit content or images-lingerie, bathing suits
* Anti-religious topics or content
* Malls ( a website with many different sites and topics)
* Prescription drugs- no medication of any type
* New age websites
* Plastic surgery- breast enhancement, etc

Women Today Magazine promotes healthy body image and self-esteem. To exchange links with a site that promotes weight loss and diet pills would send mixed messages to our audience.

In addition, check through some on the link exchange they have with other sites if they are connected with anything in the above list decline the exchange.
