Making Connections
According to the Computer Industry Almanac, there will be over 1 billion people on line in the world by the end of the year. In North America, nearly 2/3 of the adults who use the Internet will use it for faith related matters, according to the Pew Internet Project.
Just as the Roman roads opened the then know world up to the Gospel, today the Internet is providing a way to take the Gospel around the world in a very effective way. Barriers that may stop traditional missionary work do not stop the Internet. Seeker and online missionary can be linked almost instantaneously anywhere in the world.
The paradox of the internet is this: that the very anonymity it promises opens the door to incredibly personal ministry. Through email mentoring, chat and discussion boards you can talk to anyone, anywhere in the world as if they were sitting right beside you. Come and be amazed by the honesty and openness possible in online communities and learn how to harness this opportunity for your ministry.
