Writing evangelistically

Friday, October 19th, 2007

moderating.jpgGod has commissioned us as Christians to share the Gospel.  We are called to offer others the opportunity to experience a personal relationship with Him. Many people have responded to this command and have used their skills in writing to evangelize on our websites.

The task of sharing the Gospel with someone with no church background is harder than it seems.  How do you communicate clearly with someone who has little or no understanding of the terms, concepts and characters which make up our faith?

In light of this, we’ve put together a list of the most common problems we find in articles submitted for non-Christians. We also included “before and after” examples where applicable.

I Corinthians 9:22,23 says, “When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.” (NLT)

Changing the way you write can be a scary thing.  Ask God to help you see your writing through the eyes your reader.  He can take your personal evangelism to a new level of effectiveness.

Interactive Campaign Ideas

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Each month we will have our General Monthly Theme that will guide our Editorial team in choosing content.

We will also have an Interactive Campaign that will flow out of that theme and will invite our audience to talk to us.

As you think of monthly themes also think about what questions might flow out of that theme to engage our audience in dialogue with a mentor.

Here are some questions suggested from our Mentor Coordinator, Terry, based on issues that she has seen addressed by our mentors.

Do you feel isolated, hurt or afraid and have no one to talk to?

Are you struggling with anxiety? Do you experience panic attacks and afraid to face the day?

Are you lonely in your relationship and wish it was different?

Why is it hard to ask for help?

Is your spouse addicted to porn and you’re feeling lonely, islotated and unloved?

Are you feeling the regrets of having an abortion and need someone to talk to?

Do you struggle with the deep darkness of depression and find yourself without hope?

Are you facing an unwanted divorce or separation? Is your world coming to an end?

Is there life after divorce, abortion, sexual, physical or emotional abuse?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Gail

Theme for August Devotional Blog for Women

Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

I’m happy to welcome all our devotional writers to our WriteClick Blog! During the next few weeks, as you write your articles, feel free to discuss your thoughts and ideas here. Our theme for August is “Women of the Bible”. Tell us who you have chosen to write on. If several choose the same woman we can share the different aspects of her story and cover it more fully as we share what God has put on our hearts.

Share a thought from your own quiet time to encourage the other writers. As we seek to inspire spiritual growth in our readers we need to be deliberate in creating it for ourselves as well. Let’s enjoy some community together as we have the common goal of hearing from God in order to share it with our audience.

Brainstorm here with ideas for future themes.
Thanks for being a part of the Truth Media Writers Team. WriteClick is our coffee shop chat time. Please drop in.
Warmly,
Gail
