Terri’s Tuesday Tip ~Resource Page~

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Greetings Mentors!

Remember the last time you got an encouraging email in your inbox and it just made you smile? That’s what this email did for me and so I want to share it with you.

“Despite the technical troubles, I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love the new format.  It is so much more user friendly and allows me to refer back to previous communications quickly and easily.  Thanks for all your hard work!“

Cheryl

Resources:

One of the exciting developments that has been part of The Mentor Center is the reorganization of the helpful resource page. For example, check out the information on this page and click through other links to familiarize yourself with this wonderful asset. I know you’ll find this very encouraging.

Tip:

**To close finished requests you need to open it up and then click on the close button on the top right side. All closed emails will be stored in the archive list on the left side of the page.

Have an awesome week!

Terri’s Tuesday Tip ~Server Error~

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Greetings Mentors!

Two things to know.

  1. Lots of you have seen the ’server error’ message when trying to log into The Mentor Center and others of you have seen the same page when you try to send or reassign. We have been experiencing intermittent technical issues with The Mentor Center since early on Saturday, Aug 9.
  2. Even though some of you are not receiving the notification email in your inboxes, please check to see if you have mail in TMC by clicking on the link below. You can expect to be notified whenever you have mail waiting in TMC in the near future.

https://tmc.truthmedia.com

To be encouraged: New features are being added to The Mentor Center that will enhance your ministry experience as an online mentor.

We continue to appreciate your prayers and patience.

Blessings!

Attention Mentors ~Emails in TMC~

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Greetings!

Attention to the teen/youth and all other mentors. If you notice any emails in your inbox with support@thehopeline.com anywhere on the form, please use ‘Other’ to reassign those to.

Attention to all other communities. If you receive emails that have dmlive on it please reassign these to ‘Other’. Only the teen/youth mentors should answer them who have already gone through a criminal record check. This is due to the legalities of dealing with underage people.

Also, we have been dealing with an influx of spam coming through as legitimate emails. If you do get spam in your inbox please reassign it to the category ‘Spam’ in your drop down box after clicking on reassign. If you’re not sure its spam but suspect it could be, do not send a reply but reassign as well to the category ‘Other’.

We will have some people pulling spam throughout the weekend, however please note that you could still find spam in your inbox until this is resolved.

We do apologize for this and want you to know that it’s top priority for our team to create a fix for this as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and graciousness as we continue to work diligently to provide a safe and meaningful ministry place for you to work in.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

Blessings!

Terri’s Tuesday Tip ~Reassigns in TMC~

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Thank you for your prayers!

We are very excited how well the transition went. Although, there are some glitches we are currently working through, the transition from ARC to The Mentor Center went relatively smooth.

Tip

To reassign emails in your inbox, click the reassign button between Reply and Tag on the top right corner of the email message. If you are certain the email is spam, select Spam and click the reassign button. If you are not sure, select the reason best suited to the situation or ‘Other’ and then click the reassign button. All these reassigns will go directly to your Community Leader, who will then be able to re-direct them to the appropriate place.

Thank you for your patience as we are completing a fix to the email routing issue. Many of you have not had any emails since the move and this is because emails are being held up in a pool. We are expecting the fix to be completed in the next few days and then the mail will be distributed out to the mentors.

Blessings!

Terri

TMC is Up and Waiting for You!

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Today is the day that we say good-bye to ARC and hello TMC!

The switch to the new Mentor Center software has now been flipped!

As of right now, do not use ARC to respond to any further emails. We are now in The Mentor Center, which can still be accessed through http://arc.truthmedia.com where there is also training for this new software. Feel free to bookmark the real login page.

We have worked hard to provide a smooth transition and multiple resources for you to access as you learn how to respond to our visitors in The Mentor Center. These resources can be accessed by clicking on ‘Help’ on the left side of the TMC screen.

In order to make this transition easier for you, your username will remain the same as it was in ARC. However, for your initial login your password is case sensitive:
Password: MentorCenter

Once you have logged in, please choose a new password and set a secret question which is outlined clearly in the Power Point in the ‘Help’ section. Please take the time to read through the Power Point carefully so that you will be aware of what each screen means.

We have endeavored to anticipate a smooth transition into The Mentor Center but both your patience and grace would be much appreciated in the coming days.

Important Mentor Login Information

Friday, July 18th, 2008

Greetings!

As already mentioned in this week’s Tuesday Tip this is your last weekend to work in ARC. Please take the time to go through your email list and finish any outstanding requests.

The switch to the new Mentor Center software will be flipped on Monday, July 21 at noon pacific. (check out this link to the World Time Clock in order to calculate the time in your area  http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock )

In order to make this transition easier for you, your username will remain the same as it was in ARC. You will receive your password on Monday, July 21 at noon pacific to login to TMC.

Once you have logged in, you will need to choose a new password and set a secret question.

To learn how to use this system, you will receive a Power Point on Monday or you can click on ‘Help’ in The Mentor Center.

Consider these coming weeks to be like a construction zone. The road will be a little bumpy until we get to the new highway. The programmers are working on adding additional features even as I type this, so any glitches we encounter will be fixed as we go. We have endeavored to anticipate what these situations might be but both your patience and grace would be much appreciated.

Terri’s Tuesday Tip ~The Mentor Center Update~

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Greetings!

The Mentor Center Update

For those of us who have experienced a roller coaster ride and can remember the anxious feelings in our stomachs just before you reach the top…that’s what it feels like today! Both exciting and scary as we make final preparations for the move from ARC into The Mentor Center. (TMC)

Due to the configuration of email replies in ARC, we have been forced to activate email flow into TMC sooner than later for our entire mentor team. The switch will be flipped on Monday, July 21 at noon pacific. (check out this link to the World Time Clock in order to calculate the time in your time zone http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock )

We are asking that you continue to work through your emails in ARC through the weekend until Monday morning. Watch for more emails from me. You will be receiving at least two emails from me in the next 4 days, one on Friday and again Monday morning.

Consider these coming weeks to be like a construction zone. The road will be a little bumpy until we get to the new highway. The programmers are working additional features even as I type this, so any glitches we encounter will be fixed as we go. We have endeavored to anticipate what these situations might be but both your patience and grace would be much appreciated.

Terri’s Tuesday Tip ~Spell Check Tip~

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Greetings!

The Mentor Center Update

The first group of tech, programmers and admins are going to be moving over to TMC in a couple of days. We are still being cautious, making sure there are no major bugs before you arrive. Things are looking good!

Thank you so much for your continued prayers.

Tip

Another way to spell check is to copy and paste your response in an email program (like Microsoft Office or Express) and use it’s spell check features. Then you can copy and paste the text back on top of the original message line in ARC. You can delete the email message you created, or send it to yourself for your own copy.

Please note that saving, filing and organizing your mail are going to be much nicer and easy in The Mentor Center.

God Bless,

Terri

Terri’s Tuesday Tip ~Worry~

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Greetings!

The Mentor Center

We have been adding more data to the new software this week and it feels very good to actually see our data in the new system.  I will try and give you an updated glimpse into what’s happening as much as I can. Thank you so much for your continued prayers during this transition.

Tip

Q: My husband says I’m a worry wart, but I can’t help worrying about all the things that might go wrong. The world is a pretty scary place, and a lot can happen. Am I wrong to be concerned?

A:  Yes, a lot can go wrong in life, and the Bible certainly doesn’t tell us to close our eyes to its dangers. The Bible says, “A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it” (Proverbs 22:3).

But the Bible also warns us against becoming “worry warts” (to use your expression), or being filled with worry and anxiety over everything that might go wrong. I suspect that if you made a list of all the things you worried about in the last year, almost none of them actually happened. And yet your worries robbed you of joy, and probably made your family miserable as well!

Instead, the Bible tells us to trust God for the future. You see, when we allow worries to overwhelm us, we’re actually saying to ourselves that God must not love us, and He must not be watching over us. But this isn’t true! God loves you far more than you can ever imagine—and the proof is that He was willing to send His Son into the world to die for your sins. He loves you so much that He wants you to spend eternity with Him in heaven.

The Bible says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). I challenge you to put these words into action—for when you do, God’s peace will begin to overcome your worries.

Terri’s Tuesday Tip ~Save a Copy~

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

The Mentor Centre

Before we start the move into TMC, this would be a really good time to email people you have been communicating with but haven’t heard from in awhile. This is to ensure that the history from this visitor will go with you into The Mentor Center.

It’s always good to send an email letting visitors know that you’re thinking of them and still praying for them, even if they haven’t replied.

Mentor Tip

Until we move into The Mentor Center it is a good idea to save a copy of your response in Word or Notepad before clicking on the ‘send’ button in ARC. That way if it doesn’t send, you will be able to re-send it again at a latter time.

I hope you have an awesome week!

Terri
